5 Packing Tips for a Weekend Getaway
LIFESTYLE
Summer vacation is here, and we are ready to make summer memories for a lifetime!! It’s the season to travel, escape your routine, and enjoy the warm sunny days; from planning a road trip to posting up at a beach house or enjoying a festival weekend. Summer is the season of fun and getaways!
If you’re anything like us, you find packing super tedious, even for a short trip. Let the Maaji Team share our time-tested tips and tricks for easy packing! Goodbye to over and underpacking!
Check your bag’s size
Check your bag’s size
If you’re traveling on a plane, make sure your bag is the size of the permitted luggage by measuring it. New airlines only allow a small item that fits under your seat, so make sure to read those numbers before heading to the airport. If you’re looking for a bag that will have nice space and still fit under most planes, this is one of our favorites:
Bathroom essentials in a waterproof bag

Remember to pack your creams, perfume, and liquids in a waterproof keeper or in a separate bag from the rest of your stuff. A spill would be devastating for the rest of your packed clothes! Psst – Remember the TSA rules: liquids must be 3.4 ounces or less and they all must fit in a one quart-size bag.
Pack in Cubes

We love to keep everything organized! Packing cubes makes it easier to keep your suitcase organized and stack together easily, not to mention fit more stuff. Use packing cubes for your swimsuits, dresses, pajamas and even for your pre-planned outfits to easily find them when arriving at your destination.
Pack bikinis in smaller bags

Take your bikinis in their bikini pouch, so if they happen to be wet when heading back home, you can store them in their pocket and protect the rest of your clothes from getting damp too! This leaves more time for last-minute adventures.
Make a list, check it twice
Make a list, check it twice
Last but definitely not least, make a packing list (using paper, a note on your phone or laying everything out on your bed). A list can help you visualize your trip and if you’re over or under packing. We love writing down which outfits will be worn on which days, all our self-care/hygiene essentials, and how many bikinis we might need, and start checking off the stuff on our list while packing. It’s better to be safe and make sure you packed everything you need!
